Quality of Life in Clinton County
Social tools, accessible health-care and top of the line education opportunities are important to the Clinton County community.  In the area of health-care, St. Vincent’s Hospital is a professional full service hospital that is capable of serving all of Clinton County.  They are connected to a vast network of specialty services that guarantees quality of care.

The Elementary, Junior and Senior High schools in Clinton County place great importance on continuing education upon graduation whether it is a four-year college, a two-year degree, or vocational training.  To promote that value system, they have embraced, along with the community, and partnered with various agencies and Universities to accomplish educational goals.

The Learning Network of Clinton County in conjunction with Purdue Cooperative Extension is a program that focuses on adult learning, workforce training, and information technology.  The mission of the Learning Network is to facilitate and provide learning opportunities for all citizens of the community which will enhance economic development and increase quality of life.

In addition, Clinton County has satellites of Indiana Wesleyan University, Indiana University of Kokomo, Ivy Tech, and Purdue University.  These schools offer a range of classes at various venues within Clinton County in alliance with our local schools and industries alike.

The Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development groups of Clinton County have many programs that focus on ensuring that the residents have quality jobs, such as listing employment opportunities on the website and actively encouraging employment through the  various agencies within our county and region.

When the summer arrives, there are a number of weekend festivals in Clinton County as well as a week long county fair.  The oldest program to date is the Clinton County Fair which has been an annual event since 1853.

Do you want to experience our small town Festivals?  Look no farther than Kirk’s Crossing Festival, Colfax Hickory Days, and Rossville Summer’s End Festival.   Residents also enjoy entertainment options such as golfing,  musical entertainment, and the Prairie Grass Observatory for stargazing.

City of Frankfort Quality of Life
Frankfort is home of the Hot Dog Festival an annual event that occurs in late July.  This is a time where the citizens of Frankfort and the County residents come together for a great weekend of celebration.  The activities range from various booths of items for sale, local talent being displayed on stage,  evening concerts, and, of course, a 1/4 pound hot-dog make for an outstanding weekend.  Cap all that off with a community church service and you will have enjoyed a great weekend and, no doubt, return year after year.

The city’s motto, displayed on the city website, is “The biggest risk is not taking one.”  The city embraces this attitude by investing in the future while never forgetting the past.

To Celebrate our past, both the Clinton County Historical Museum, a 6,000 square foot repository for transportation and military memorabilia from the 175-year history of the county, and the Goodwin Museum which collects and displays Presidential and automobile memorabilia are located in the city and are worthy of a visit.

For the enjoyment of today, there is the Civic Theatre and the Red Barn Summer Theater, both of which specialize in award winning stage productions.

Finally, to help support our future,we have both a full service YMCA with an indoor track, fitness equipment, indoor pool, basketball courts, volleyball courts and other recreation programs.  also available to support health and fitness, Snap Fitness, specializes in weight training and wellness on a less supervised 24 hour format.  Both community partners contribute greatly to residents quality of life.  Both of these facilities are also focused on helping  companies to maintain employee’s health and wellness with a multitude of programs.

Do you enjoy a walk in shaded areas?  A place to take your children to play while you enjoy the cool breeze under a shade tree?  There are over 85 acres of parks and recreational areas within the City of Frankfort, from walking areas to baseball, softball, basketball, tennis and a swimming pool with a slide at TPA Park.
